Soggy Saturday

I know this was a couple of days ago now but I have only just got organised enough to get these happy snaps off my phone and onto my computer.

This is just a quick message to all, if it looks like rain and you're heading to the markets you MUST take an umbrella and you MUSTN'T wear shoes! (as modelled soggily here by my mate, mid vegie shop)

and this here is just a super cute cover from some sheet music I was shuffling through, not because I can play any musical instrument overly well but more because I was trying to stay relatively dry and this stall, being for books and such, had the least amount of holes in the tarp roof!

Market time!

I'm well aware of my prolonged hiatus from creating pretty much anything but the truth is, no matter how much I thought I would be ok with uni starting again and work being fairly full on, it just hasn't happened.

Until now!

These last couple of days I have been putting together a suitcase to be part of a market day at my friend Imogens art space that is being held tomorrow. I made a few more pairs of leather cut out earrings and also some new necklaces to be on show. There are only three necklaces so far but they're just prototypes really, just to see what kind of feedback they receive.

Here are a few last minute photos I took on my phone before I packed them up to take out to the shop, please let me know what you think of my button clouds!

{they're all made from recycled leather and vintage buttons}

And if you're keen to stop by and check them out for real, here is the info for tomorrows festivities!

{yes the street is named after me..haha!}

Just a wee re-cap of last Fridays market venture. The rained stayed away and I managed to buy one part of my sisters Christmas pressie. It was fun if a little slow but I had loads of visitors {thanks mum, cousin and other ladies!} so it was pretty fun all round.

My sisters handmade decorations, you can find her on etsy at TheFloatingWorkshop

Mini trees for your mantle or Christmas table! $35 each and can be found on my etsy.

New cushion covers made from vintage pillow cases and vintage zippers, everyone loves an icecream! Will so be on my etsy shop..

It's getting to be that time of year!

I love Christmas, so much! I'm not even kidding.

Last year I made {from scratch} gingerbread men for all my work peeps and other besties and gingerbread reindeer as gift tags for all my family. I also managed my first ever stocking and my market stall was full to the brim with handmade felt tree decorations and garlands.

Anyway, this year my sisters and I are joining creative forces, I can't give much away just yet but here are some photos from last years markets to get you curious!!

All the felties are made by yours truly, the ceramic decos by my sister Ash and the timber trees {painted green and gold} are done by us both {with some Dad help}. The timber trees have been a feature of our Christmas' since forever and we decided to give them a bit of a come back tour this year. They stand about 40cm tall and come with or without decorations {each branch had a small hole drilled into it so you can trim your tiny tree} and are painted green with the star being gold and a slight mist of gold around the branches as 'tinsel'. We love them and hope that they'll be a hit outside our family too!

Friday fun times

Friday morning saw Trudy and I setting up our little worlds at the Bleeding Heart Gallery Markets. Initially the table was an issue, but not for long seeing as we're both so clever!

Across the way was the lovely Kim Aitken who makes the most lovely ceramics {my mum got a lovely glossy lemon yellow bowl for mothers day and grandma is getting floral bread and butter/ cupcake plate for her birthday!}. Her daughter Alex was there to keep her company which was so nice {she also was an admirer of my new leather earrings so obviously we were immediately friends!}. Kim has a cube in the gift shop at Bleeding Heart but she also sells at the Boutique Markets at Portside .

Next door I made a new friend in Ella from Little Lala jewellery. We bonded over novels, fantasy or space? And the ins and outs of peroxiding your hair. I couldn't help myself and bought some of her fantastic mineral eye shadow and talked my housemate into buying another colour, so we could share obviously!

my place!

trudys place!

 mini heart bunting, if you like it you can have it, i'm sick to death of seeing it!

 these are my latest sucess, leather heart stud earrings. I'm thinkikng of other shapes to try as my mum seems to think that not everyone likes to wear hearts {?!}, i thought maybe triangles? thoughts?

 handfulls of new colours in the zipper rosettes!

new art, old art

 new little felt skulls, i'm going to try and make them into hair clips as well as these brooches.

It was a fun day and even though it was a little slow {not many people knew we were there} it was relaxing and gave me a chance to try out some new products, drink some great coffee and make new friends.
