I feel I have let you down ole' blue.

for this is what happens when I don't do suitcase rummage for 2 whole months (!!) because someone crazily decided to go back to uni and then shit hit the fan with the boy and things weren't functioning so hot for a while there. Well, never fear! Ole' blue will be back in action soon enough with new bits and bobs, keep an eye out for phat (that's right, phat with a ph!) felty necklaces and new vintage style cushions to use however you please!

I will also be making an appearance at the newly instated Bleeding Heart Markets on May 6th with one lovely lady who goes by the name Trudy Florence. It's going to be a most awesome day and more info will come very soon so keep your eyes peeled!

For now though it's peace out tiny dancers!! Time for a bit of good wine and crap TV!

And then came Sunday.

And with Sunday came the first real size suitcase rummage for the year. It was also hot, with a slight rain panic at about 1pm followed by boost juice and sushi.
As always it was a fun day, a great catch-up day and awesome bargains day!

Our set up, the posse from Laneway + one Laura friend.
the bargain of the century! ..the cutest shoes in the world!

Would you care for a moo card?

{all new stock including cushions, love bunting, earrings and purses can be found at under the stairs studio on etsy shortly}

Weekend shenanigans.

It was going to be a long hot summers day, the humidity was through the roof. But we packed our sunscreen, umbrellas and suitcases and headed on down to St Jeromes Laneway Festival to show the world that suitcase rummagers are made of the tough stuff!

Such an awesome day out, hanging out with the coolest kids {Trudy and Sarah-Jayne}, making new friends {Jeremy and another Sarah!}, delicious nachos, free fairy floss, amazing people watching and some alright music {i'm not going to hide the fact i'm not a massive fan of the scene, but i'll admit that I still had fun times}. All in all it was an awesome opportunity and even though there weren't huge sales made it was a great day!

Keeping shaded..but still smiling!
Paper cuts {Trudy} and zipper jewelry {Me}, neighbours.

Next door was Jeremy with more zines than you could poke a stick at,

and on the other side of Sarah-Jayne, Sarah with the Tell Tale zine and cupcakes!

Loving the free fairy floss...

and the not as free nachos.

Watching over the crowd and trying to catch a peek at the main stage {in the background}.

They were pretty alright.

There are more photos of the day, including our wee markets section on Laneway at Flickr.

November rain/ rummage!

Well we were dubious about the weather but it turned out to be a really nice day. A little windy towards the end but all in all, a pretty good one.

Ash and I had clothes to share, handmade brooches, earrings and hairclips, handmade cards and gift tags and the most awesome little christmas tree decorations ever! (also handmade, of course!)

The new location I feel was a winner in the end. There were loads of other markets going on this weekend but it felt like we were in the thick of it. People who probably didn't even know about us stumbled upon the rummagers outside the library and for the better I hope. It was nice to see new faces and hopefully we made their day as much as they made ours.

I'll admit the sun did get a little burny as the afternoon rolled through but better sun than rain I say! (lets hope i'm not sunburt though!!)

Here are a few snaps of the day, just in case you didn't catch us!

What a rummage!

Even though the weather failed us and it was a fairly miserable day it was nice to see the young (and old/er) and the crafty out in force last weekend. There was so many stalls and SO much cool stuff I just had to close my eyes as I walked by other wise it would have been a very poor Morgan going home 4 hours later!
Your organ grinder was there and so was Holly from Pannikin. I had an old friend Grace have her first turn at rummaging and was our neighbour across the way. The lovely Laura was my other neighbour and partner in crime {getting the best home-made monte carlos and macaroon treats back to our friends} and so many new friends were made as the day went by. A big shout out to Mum, who brought me coffee and Vicki who also came with sustinence in the way of the most delicious sushi in town (Ann st baby!!). There were few photo memories made as I made such an intelligent move in forgetting my camera. Luckily our international student Wei came to the rescue!

hmmm...loving life, clearly!

My Creative Space ...

What have I been up to in the past couple of weeks? Many things, including many a trip to the op shops around town, many nights with trashy tv and tim tams and a few goes in dads workshop. And all for what I hear you ask? (or hope I'm hearing you ask..) For my return to suitcase rummage! I havn't shown my little face for quite some time and feel that since the hockey season is over (games just happened to conveniently always be on sunday) it is high time I got back into the swing of things. I'll have old stock aswell as new surprises and some others that i'm trial testing for the rummage before I make more of them. Here's a sneak peek from my 'workstation' (really an old school desk that is more often trashed and messy than organised, i like to think of it as creatively in order..haha!).

So the next rummage is Sunday October 3rd, 12 - 5pm in King George Square. If you're in the Brisbane area please stop by and say hi, have a rummage and hopefully you'll find some lovely treasures to treat yourself to.

Suitcase Rummage #2

Not as busy as the first but it was mothers day and heres hoping that the diminished crowds were due to the fact you were all out there looking after your mums and making sure their day was wonderful! {don't worry, I took care of all things mum before lunchtime with a breakfast bonanza!}

I had more cards, some sweet brooches and hair clips made from vintage zippers and a bunch of other new things made for our new etsy venture.

Pics of the day..

{not sure what my hand is doing..just don't look at it!}

A big thankyou to all my friends who dropped by to make my little stall look popular! And a massive thankyou to my sister who helped out on the day and had her craftsome self and wares in our suitcases too.

Can't wait for the next one but in the mean time keep an eye out on Etsy for the under the stairs studio, we are coming soon!
