Bleeding Heart Markets

Just a wee re-cap of last Fridays market venture. The rained stayed away and I managed to buy one part of my sisters Christmas pressie. It was fun if a little slow but I had loads of visitors {thanks mum, cousin and other ladies!} so it was pretty fun all round.

My sisters handmade decorations, you can find her on etsy at TheFloatingWorkshop

Mini trees for your mantle or Christmas table! $35 each and can be found on my etsy.

New cushion covers made from vintage pillow cases and vintage zippers, everyone loves an icecream! Will so be on my etsy shop..

Worst blogger ever

It's true, i'm not sure how long it's been but I think I can safely say minimum one whole month since I last posted. My bad.

But I have been busy, I swear! Exams. Uni. Work. etc. you know the drill.

Now though I have new things to show and some old ones that I'm falling for again.

enjoy.

this will soon be a necklace, similar to the one below.

just picked up some stock from the Bleeding Heart gift shop, this was always one of my favourites.

Friday fun times

Friday morning saw Trudy and I setting up our little worlds at the Bleeding Heart Gallery Markets. Initially the table was an issue, but not for long seeing as we're both so clever!

Across the way was the lovely Kim Aitken who makes the most lovely ceramics {my mum got a lovely glossy lemon yellow bowl for mothers day and grandma is getting floral bread and butter/ cupcake plate for her birthday!}. Her daughter Alex was there to keep her company which was so nice {she also was an admirer of my new leather earrings so obviously we were immediately friends!}. Kim has a cube in the gift shop at Bleeding Heart but she also sells at the Boutique Markets at Portside .

Next door I made a new friend in Ella from Little Lala jewellery. We bonded over novels, fantasy or space? And the ins and outs of peroxiding your hair. I couldn't help myself and bought some of her fantastic mineral eye shadow and talked my housemate into buying another colour, so we could share obviously!

my place!

trudys place!

mini heart bunting, if you like it you can have it, i'm sick to death of seeing it!

these are my latest sucess, leather heart stud earrings. I'm thinkikng of other shapes to try as my mum seems to think that not everyone likes to wear hearts {?!}, i thought maybe triangles? thoughts?

handfulls of new colours in the zipper rosettes!

new art, old art

new little felt skulls, i'm going to try and make them into hair clips as well as these brooches.

It was a fun day and even though it was a little slow {not many people knew we were there} it was relaxing and gave me a chance to try out some new products, drink some great coffee and make new friends.

And then the rain {and the cold} came!

Has anyone else {in Brisbane} noticed the massive change in the weather lately? I had to physically hunt down my winter clothes I'de packed them away so well at the end of last winter! So in true style I busted out the slippers yesterday while I finished off another morsel of artwork for the impending Bleeding Heart Markets {Friday May 6th!!}.

my ever stylish hoodies for feet {not a word of a lie, that is what they're called!!}

and the yet to be named newest piece of the puzzle.

closing time..

I've been SO sick and it friggin sucks. I havn't been able to do anything except take cold and flu drugs and sleep and watch bad tv and you know what, life is BAD when that starts getting boring! So I started doing some new work, possibly for the Bleeding Heart Markets, possibly for a show some of the work kids and I are sorting out for August or possibly just so that I don't go completely off the rails!

Here is one, there are others that I will slowly put up for show. Please let me know what you think tiny dancers!

I feel I have let you down ole' blue.

for this is what happens when I don't do suitcase rummage for 2 whole months (!!) because someone crazily decided to go back to uni and then shit hit the fan with the boy and things weren't functioning so hot for a while there. Well, never fear! Ole' blue will be back in action soon enough with new bits and bobs, keep an eye out for phat (that's right, phat with a ph!) felty necklaces and new vintage style cushions to use however you please!

I will also be making an appearance at the newly instated Bleeding Heart Markets on May 6th with one lovely lady who goes by the name Trudy Florence. It's going to be a most awesome day and more info will come very soon so keep your eyes peeled!

For now though it's peace out tiny dancers!! Time for a bit of good wine and crap TV!

All jazzed up!

I promised I would and today I came through. I hit up the Bleeding Heart Gallery this morning for coffee and to jazz up my little cube of fancy. With my handmade 'pin board' of a picture frame and pretty paper to pin my brooches on and the addition of my hand drawn cards (think deers and bunnies!) it's looking waaay better than when I first put my stuff in! I also was lucky enough to borrow some awesome vintage fabric to line the bottom of my cube with to give it little more of a 'homely' feel. Think creams, browns, roses and a shock of turquoise! (photos are just NOT paying justice to it all, i'm going to have to re-think my camera choice that's for sure..)
I may also have acquired a cute wee lemon coloured ceramic bowl for my dresser, I think it will become a new home for my ring collection (photos will have to come later though because I had to dash of down the coast to uni and am currently updating my blog on the library computers, suck it other studious people!).

Hope you can pop by soon xx

Bleeding Heart new-ness!

Hurrah! I've finally got my act together and taken some treasures down to the gift shop at Bleeding Heart Gallery on Ann St in the city (Brisbane city that is...)

Now I wasn't 100% sure how to display or what was available so please don't judge too harshly when you see my initial photos. I'm heading back in hopefully today with some vintage picture frames and floral fabric (care of the waaay to generous Laura from Kit and Nancy) to do some sprucing up of my cube. I will also be adding some hand drawn cards to the mix so please head down and check me out. I promise you will find somethinhg that excites whether is be the delicious crafting, the artwork or just a really good coffee!
