Opening Night fun times!

So Re-framed has opened and closed and was yet another fantastic experience. Love the peeps who made it all come to fruition and a special shout out to all who made it down to White Canvas on opening night to help us celebrate our third group show with many more to come in the pipe line!

Here are a few sneak peaks at our opening night shenanigans, for more check us out on our Facebook page!

keep getting messy!

With the art making that is, not with the drinking of the booze!

I'm sleepy and super un-motivated to write about these newest photos except to say that I desperately need to acquire more colours and definitly am changing what I initially wrote as my brief for the exhibition...you can't restrain creativity!!

Here's what I got up to Saturday arvo, rubber gloves on and sweet tunes blaring!

Getting my art.on

I swear, I don't even know how long it's been between art making sessions so today I finally decided to pull my finger out, get motivated and start making rather than just thinking about it!

With the sun almost shining and some sweet tunes... (don't judge! you know who you are)

and some maybe not so sexy painting clothes I made a good old mess, and a great start to two new pieces for a show set for late August.

(you should totally check out our facebook page at Re-Framed and like us!!)

Here's a sneak peek, let me know what you think!

The trials and tribulations of the doilie project {moulding the doilies}.

This was just plain messy.

The trials and tribulations of the doilie project {step 2}..

I've talked to some people 'in the know' and it has become apparent that a mould was needed for my doilies, to avoid the slumpy outcome of my first attempts. So here they are. It was too messy to photograph the actual process but picture a grown up, sitting on the ground under the house, in her oldest messiest clothes armed with a bottle of water, a butter knife, ipod + speakers blaring and a 10 kilo block of school grade clay. It was an interesting afternoon and I forgot that last time I made clay bowls was probably when I was 10, at primary school and had a teacher help me...it took me a while to get back into it let's just leave it at that...

The trials and tribulations of the doilie project.

I'm not going to go into too much detail on this one, suffice to say that i've begun a new project for the exhibition that i'm in at the end of June. What has been a good 8 months of doilie collecting by myself and my mum accumulated in this slumped attempt at the 'big idea'. Never fear though! I have one step of trial #2 in the oven as we speak.
