Photo project

This week has been holiday week for moi, well a holiday of sorts. No uni but more work, and no actual leaving town so I had to make the most of what I had.
Vacation care pizza making, market visiting, flower buying, teaching art, making art, gardening with kittens and generally enjoying the sunshine.
That was until yesterday when it started to drizzle, the weather is gross and soggy but very conducive to studying and finishing assignments/ watching trashy tv in bed in my trackies!
So here I am, back in bed enjoying post family dinner full belly satisfaction and some gloriously bad navy cop TV, good night!

Photo project easter style!

My long weekend thus far, in photo form of course.
First some gardening, planting peppermint, cherry tomatos, lettuce, rocket, thyme, parsley, basil and jalapeno from seedlings purchased from the farmers markets.
I followed by my first ever throwdown with crab eating. I've never cracked crab claws until today, it was pretty delicious but the second I put my finger in crab guts the friendship was over, well and truly over.
Finally thankyou easter bilby for delivering some delicious chocolate!!

Going to get my sewing on!

Easter holidays are rolling around pretty swiftly and I've decided that i'm going to dust off the old sewing machine and see what I can create! I'm thinking cushion covers mostly with these patterns and possibly a tote back with the bowls club towel.

I'm also secretly working on some new leather creations but they're not finished yet so you'll have to wait and see!

also, how cute is this cushion cover I found op-shopping out in the middle of no where?!

Laundromat antics

So the other day I spent a good couple of hours chilling out in what I must say was one of the more interesting laundromats I've been in. and before you judge me and think, what a weirdo for just hanging out with other peoples laundry, I wasn't. I was actually partaking in the washing and drying of the clothes (camping and two days of rain isn't conducive to dry or nice smelling anything, particularly towels).

Anyway, as per usual I got a little snap happy, but this time I feel it was justified, it's one cool laundromat and one awesome vintage lino table that I would have stashed in the car had there been ample room..you be the judge.

Tis the season...

To be jolly, ie.

A) drinking margaritas for breakfast/brunch.

B) last minute wrapping of the presents.

C) playing ridiculous boardgames called smart ass with your grandma so that she has to say jackass and hardass, a lot!

D) swimming at the beach even if it's over cast and miserable purely because it's the christmas holidays and you drove this far anyway.

E) eating too much cheese platter...or not enough!

F) listening to the bangles, the beach boys and other manner of poppy brilliance on vinyl...

G) op shopping...enough said

This may or may not be my silly season thus far....

Summer Lovin'

....Had me a blast at Noosa a few weekends ago with the girls, sunshine, delicious cider and a rather territorial kookaburra.

Opshop gold!

Last week I took a trip down to the NSW north coast to visit family with my mum and along the way {both to and from} we stopped in at more opshops than I can count. We also took a trip into Bellingen {which is only about a half hour drive from Coffs} had some delicious organic somethings for lunch and hit all the wee boutique-ey shops and vintage stores they had to offer. The moral of this short and sweet post is I landed on some opshop vintage gold and can't wait to start new summer crafting projects!

This ice-cream pillow case delight is double sided and I'll be making two sweet {pun intended!} cushions out of it, first come first served I'm afraid.

The golden find of the trip! Multi coloured zippers are so hard to find i'de say they're almost extinct, this is only the second one i've found in close to 3 years of zipper op-shopping and it's even more fabulous than the last one! Now my conundrum is what to make with it? Earrings? Brooch?
