The newest

A little bit of late night blogging never hurt anyone right?!

This has been the longest week ever and it's only Wednesday! But never fear, the coffee and the juice maker will keep me strong (especially when you get a little crazy with the juice recipes and the beetroot and the purple carrots come out to play and you're more interested in the pretty colours being spat out of the juicer than the juice itself...) and the art will be made/ uni assignments completed/ exams studied for...

How do you see me?
A series of necklaces crafted from upcycled and vintage materials.

These are a sneak peek preview of what I've been working hard away on and will be part of my addition to the group show that opens this Saturday at White Canvas Gallery, you should probably come and check us out.

Photo project

This week has been holiday week for moi, well a holiday of sorts. No uni but more work, and no actual leaving town so I had to make the most of what I had.
Vacation care pizza making, market visiting, flower buying, teaching art, making art, gardening with kittens and generally enjoying the sunshine.
That was until yesterday when it started to drizzle, the weather is gross and soggy but very conducive to studying and finishing assignments/ watching trashy tv in bed in my trackies!
So here I am, back in bed enjoying post family dinner full belly satisfaction and some gloriously bad navy cop TV, good night!

What might these be?

New creations from upcycled leather and vintage buttons, what could they be when they grow up?

necklaces?

brooches?

What do you think?

Going to get my sewing on!

Easter holidays are rolling around pretty swiftly and I've decided that i'm going to dust off the old sewing machine and see what I can create! I'm thinking cushion covers mostly with these patterns and possibly a tote back with the bowls club towel.

I'm also secretly working on some new leather creations but they're not finished yet so you'll have to wait and see!

also, how cute is this cushion cover I found op-shopping out in the middle of no where?!

Market time!

I'm well aware of my prolonged hiatus from creating pretty much anything but the truth is, no matter how much I thought I would be ok with uni starting again and work being fairly full on, it just hasn't happened.

Until now!

These last couple of days I have been putting together a suitcase to be part of a market day at my friend Imogens art space that is being held tomorrow. I made a few more pairs of leather cut out earrings and also some new necklaces to be on show. There are only three necklaces so far but they're just prototypes really, just to see what kind of feedback they receive.

Here are a few last minute photos I took on my phone before I packed them up to take out to the shop, please let me know what you think of my button clouds!

{they're all made from recycled leather and vintage buttons}

And if you're keen to stop by and check them out for real, here is the info for tomorrows festivities!

{yes the street is named after me..haha!}

Bleeding Heart Markets

Just a wee re-cap of last Fridays market venture. The rained stayed away and I managed to buy one part of my sisters Christmas pressie. It was fun if a little slow but I had loads of visitors {thanks mum, cousin and other ladies!} so it was pretty fun all round.

My sisters handmade decorations, you can find her on etsy at TheFloatingWorkshop

Mini trees for your mantle or Christmas table! $35 each and can be found on my etsy.

New cushion covers made from vintage pillow cases and vintage zippers, everyone loves an icecream! Will so be on my etsy shop..

Party time, excellent!

I love Waynes World, for all the trash and big hair and baseball caps.

This has nothing to do with my last two weekends though {which is what this blog is about} except for the fact that they were both mucho excellentay!

This first was an all round winner of a weekend that began with my sister, mum and I going to a handbag sale and then sliding over to the Kit and Nancy yard sale...hello awesome new YELLOW uni bag and kitschy vintage kitchen scales! I also then mounted a raid on my youngest sisters bedroom {which was mine before I moved out} because I knew my old cane kids rocking chair was still about but hadn't spied it in a while. I was on a mission to save it and save it I did, from an old computer monitor that was squishing it and god knows what else has made that wardrobe its home!

i am going to ROCK uni, yellow style!

now holds the more miniature of our cookbooks on the kitchen bench

all my saturday treasures.

Then it was all about the Christmas craft seeing as I have been asked to have a stall at the Bleeding Heart Gallery Christmas Market,
 Dec 2nd, 10am - 4pm
166 Ann Street, Brisbane.
 {if anyone was keen to pop by?}

me looking super attractive in my working hat and loving the fact that it was 1 million degrees, in the SHADE! {i was not in the shade..}
